In which I Call Bullshit

So I get all set to set up this blog while I have time over the weekend figuring on taking some time to edit the basic Minima Black template to be more to my liking. The lime green aspects don't work for me. But this weekend I was heading home. I get home on Friday and find out that my parents have lost their internet and Comcast can't figure out why. Fast foward to Sunday. I go back up to New Brunswick and after an accident on the parkway delays my bus over an hour and I wait 45 minutes for a weekend rutgers bus (I'll rant about that at some other point) I come home well after 10:00 to get all of the homework I should have done over the weekend done. Nope. My computer has crashed and I don't have time to deal with it.

So Blog post #1 better late than never.

I'm calling bullshit. Blogshares is flawed. I find myself interested in tabletop or pen and paper roleplaying. I look up roleplaying. Perfect I think 80 blogs. I imagine that En World and various rpg blogs that I occasionally visit will be somewhere near the top of the list. Nope. The number one blog is... wait for it.

Aginoth's Retirement Ramblings(DO NOT CLICK THIS LINK THIS BLOG SUCKS):
Honestly I don't even know how to review this blog. It is pretty clearly a personal blog that hasn't been updated recently. The most recent blog entries are August 29 2008 and prior to that febuary 20 2008. I can't wait to come back in a few months when this thing has had its top spot vanquished due to not having active posts in the last 6th months. THIS IS NOT A ROLEPLAYING BLOG. It has no value to someone that is looking for information about roleplaying games of any sort. Going back into its archives for over a year I have yet to find one mention of a roleplaying game despite the fact that it it the NUMBER ONE roleplaying blog on blogshares.com. I have found blog posts about his kids, about european history as realted to his kids' school, about retiring, but NOT roleplaying. The only recent images are a birthday party where he went bowling and hurt his arthritic wrists. He posted a video fo his kids harvest day celebration at school as well. Frankly I don't care.

Terra Nova:
Now, I've heard of Terra Nova. I used to read it back when I still played MMORPGs. I don't anymore and i'm kind of dissapointed that this is the second blog in the roleplaying section. I really wish that section had be divided into Computer and Tabletop sub-industires. But anyway this is a much better site than the first one it actually has well written blog posts about the sate of virtual roleplaying and links to other MMO webpages and blogs. The second post on the page is a discussion of trying to decide if you want to play a male or a female character. This is actually a fairly interesting subject that may eventually get its own blog post here only speaking about the table instead of the montior. The author posts something every few days and I really want to know how Aginoth is beating it. most of his posts also get numerous comments and some of thses actually lead to thought porvoking conversations within the comment board. The author also posts the trackback links for all of his blog posts and includes links from blogs the reference his blog and similar subjectys to a specifc post.

Games*Design*Art*Culture:
This is a pretty cool blog about culture and art as it relates to gaming and design. But its very tech focused and is not really a Roleplaying blog. It loses some points with me since it hasn't updated since may and that update was a picture of a class of beer and a laptop that said Beer over IP.

I am officially disappointed in blogshares.com. It shold have been easy for me to find lbogs that wererelavant to my interests instead I got everything but. I had to go down to blogs 10 and 11 to finally find EN World and also a blog called Gamester At Large. That second one is a personal blog but within three posts from the top had an actual review of playign a realtively new game called Trail of Cthulu. Finally something relevant to my interests. EN World is a roleplaying site that is one of the best D&D and general pen and paper roleplaying fan communities on the web. They even host awards
